IF YOU PASS BY MY HOUSE TODAY…

Lord Jesus… if you pass by my house today,

Please come in, for here are the sick whom I love

Their hearts are heavy and sick.

My father curses and hates you,

My mum never knew you,

There is none in my vast earthly family who has a good thought towards you,

Their impatience and sin rises up to heaven, Lord, I can do nothing.

If you enter my room then,

Could you sit down and take my chair in front of my computer,

And chat with my friends, touch their hearts?

Some are confused, some destitute,

Others believe they know all and need nothing more,

Some others again have it all and still reject it because they believe not.

I thank thee for those who are at right standing with you, for it pleases me greatly

Still, could you grant such a reason to talk, a way to magnify your name with me?

There are those who do not obey your voice also, and some do not even know what to hear.

Lord, talk to them, my heart yearns for the faces I have never seen.

See, I love them so much and I have never seen them… just the way I love you.

If you, after that is all done, Lord,

Could take the list of my other needs,

If you look into my heart and mark how it yearns for you,

Could you satisfy it fully?

If you visit my bank and ask for my account,

Could you use whatever is there for your own glory?

If there lacks some of which you can use, Lord, add then so you have what to draw.

If I lack in time, My God, could you give me the strength to stay awake, never tired?

I need a sober heart to do your work when I am not sleeping, my beloved Lord and Master.

I need to stay up, work for you and never be tired.

Let me need but one kind of rest: the one in You and none else.

If there is place I can not go,

If there is place I resent to go,

If there is a hurt to heal where my heart is not drawn to look at…

Lord, would you so be so gracious as to lend me your own heart at that moment and go with me as well?

And, if you find you could stay within me when the opposite is assaulting me as well,

Please grant me the way out of these temptations where all is attractive and pleasant to me.

You will go with me wherever I go Lord, oh that I surely know. May I go where you go too. Amen.
